Do you have an outdoor book return?

Yes. A convenient drive-up book drop is located behind the building (north).

I don't live in Bartlett. Can I use my town's library card at Bartlett Library?

Yes! Bring your library card and a photo ID to the Circulation Desk to get entered in our system and you will be ready to use your card here.

Is there a charge to checkout movies?

There are no fees or charges to check out movies. However, there are late fees of $1.00 per day, per movie. You may be able to renew DVDs if there are no holds on the items.

I am going on vacation. Can I get a longer checkout period?

As long as there are no hold requests for the items, you can access your account online and renew them. Please ask or call the Circulation Desk at 630.837.2958 for any additional help you may need in renewing your items.

I am going on vacation. How can I keep my hold items active without the items coming in until I am back?

You can suspend your holds by going to My Account and then Requests. You will not lose your place in the hold queue when you suspend your requests.

My hold request came in while I am on vacation, what do I do?

If you receive notification of holds while on vacation please contact the Circulation Desk at 630.837.2958.

The Library does not own a certain item. What are my options?

If the title is at least six months old we can attempt to borrow it for you from another library. Please email your request to bpldadult@bartlettlibrary.org, call the Adult Services Desk at 630.837.3560, or stop by the Adult Services Desk.


For items less than six months old that have already been released/published, Bartlett Public Library District residents may request that an item be purchased by filling out a “Suggestion for Purchase” form at the Adult Services Desk, emailing their requests to bpldadult@bartlettlibrary.org, or by calling the Adult Services Desk at 630.837.3560. Bartlett Public Library District residents may request a maximum of five items a month for purchases.


You can also call or search the library catalog of local libraries to see if they have the item. You can use your Bartlett Public Library District card at most libraries throughout the state of Illinois.

Can I renew an interlibrary loan item?

Although we are not able to renew interlibrary loan items, you can return your interlibrary loan and request that the library borrow the item for you a second time.

How do I download an eBook from OverDrive onto my tablet/eReader/iPad?

Instructions for downloading an eBook can be found on the OverDrive Help pages.

How do I access the Library’s eSources (Research Databases)?

Go to our eSources & Helpful Websites page. You will need a valid Bartlett Public Library District card and PIN to log into the eSources.

Do you provide services for book clubs?

The Library offers multiple copies of selected adult and juvenile titles.

For adult book titles, please download our Adult Book Group Collection list. 10 copies of each title are available for your book club to check out for 6 weeks.

The Youth & Teen Services Department offers 10 copies of a book with book discussion questions all in one bag and available to check out for 6 weeks. Perfect for the classroom, homeschool group or neighborhood book discussion. For titles and to check out a Book Discussion in a Bag, please stop by the Youth & Teen Services desk.

Do you have public computers available? Can I use them if I don't have a library card?

Yes, we have the following public computers:

  • 28 computer workstations that require a library card to make a reservation. A one hour reservation can be made with 15 minute automatic time increments if there are no patrons waiting for a computer. There is a four hour daily maximum computer usage per library card.
  • Six laptops that can be checked out for two hours with a library card and government issued ID for in-house use.
  • Three 15-minute walk-up stations that do not require a library card to access.

How much do you charge for printing? Can I use my own paper?

Copies and printing cost 15 cents per printed page in black or full color. Copiers default to black and must be manually set to color printing. Patrons must only use Library supplied white copier paper and cannot access the bypass tray or supply trays with personal paper.

How can I print wirelessly or from home?

Visit http://www.printspots.com/bartlettpld/webprint to send print jobs from your laptop or from computers outside the building.

  • Black/white and color printing costs 15 cents per page.
  • Retrieve print jobs at the Print Release Station on the first floor by our Casual Computing computers and Computer Lab.
  • Unclaimed print jobs will be deleted four hours after they are sent.

Do you offer wireless internet access?

Yes, we provide a free wireless network throughout the Library. Laptop computers equipped with wireless cards should automatically detect and connect to our network (network name/SSID: BPLDGuestWiFi). No password is required. Unfortunately, staff cannot offer assistance on any patron's computer.

Do you offer computer training?

Yes, we do. The Bartlett Public Library District has several choices available to kids and adults seeking to improve their computer skills. Different classes are offered at different levels and vary each quarter.

Do you have a fax machine and/or scanner available?

We have a fax machine that requires credit card payment or a fax card to access. Cost is $1.75 for the first page and $1.00 for all other pages. Fax cards are available for purchase at the Circulation Desk. Our copiers have free document scanning that will create and email a pdf document to any email address you supply. We strongly recommend that you email the pdf document to your own email account first, before sending it to another recipient.

Do you accept donations?

Do you have tax forms available?

The Library has a small selection of federal and state tax forms. Please contact the Adult Services Desk at 630.837.3560 for the full list of forms available. Tax forms are typically received in February or March. Most forms can be printed from the IRS website: http://www.irs.gov/.

Do you have meeting rooms and/or study rooms available?

Conference rooms are for groups of five to sixteen. Only those groups who have checked in at the Adult Services Desk are allowed in the room. Conference room reservations can be made on a quarterly basis by those in seventh-grade students and older. Please contact the Adult Services Desk at 630.837.3560 or askus@bartlettlibrary.org for information and availability. For more detailed information, please see the Conference Room Policy.

Meeting room reservations can be made quarterly once a meeting room use policy form has been signed. Please contact the Adult Services Desk at 630.837.3560 or askus@bartlettlibrary.org for information and availability. For more detailed information, please see the Meeting Room Use Policy.

Study room reservations can be made up to seven days in advanced by those in seventh-grade students and older by calling the Adult Services Desk at 630.837.3560 or online.

How do I submit a nature photo?

You can submit a digital nature photo to the Library for posting on the in-house monitor located at the Circulation Desk. Send your digital nature photo to photos@bartlettlibrary.org.


Please note that you are agreeing to the following guidelines when submitting a digital photo: Digital photo submissions are reviewed by the Bartlett Public Library District and will be published at its discretion. Understand that any photo submitted must be an original photo taken by you or a photo that you have permission from the photographer to submit to the Bartlett Public Library District.

How do I check out a museum pass from the Library?

Visit the Youth & Teen Services Desk to obtain a pass. You must have a valid, adult Bartlett Library card to obtain a pass. Call 630.837.3348 to find out what is available. Visit http://www.museumadventure.org to view participating museums.
