Teen Internships are comprised of one 2-hour training session and six 2-hour programming sessions for a total commitment of seven sessions.

Teen VolunteersTeen Advisory Group

Want to have an impact on what is offered for teens at the Library? Join our Teen Advisory Group (for teens in grades 7 – 12) and earn volunteer hours. During the school year, we meet on the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. At TAG meetings, members give input on teen programs, the Teen Space, and materials purchased for teens. They also work together to create teen programs and displays that meet the needs of our community.

Teen Advisory Trustee

High School Students in grades 9-12 with current BPLD library cards who have previously volunteered at the Library in some capacity and are committed to joining the upcoming Teen Advisory Group (TAG) session are invited to apply for the position of Teen Advisory Trustee (TAT) on the BPLD Board of Trustees.

The TAT is required to attend BPLD Board meetings, which are held on the third Monday of the month at
7:00 pm. This position is non-voting, but the TAT is encouraged to participate in Board Meeting discussions and advise the Board on matters pertaining to teen library services, including, but not limited to, space, collections, programs, and technology. The TAT will submit a written TAG or Teen Services report monthly to the Director. This report will be presented at the Board meeting by the TAT.

The BPLD Board of Trustees consists of seven members who are elected as representatives of the community of Bartlett. Trustees work with the Director to develop written policies as well as long and short term plans.

Applications are to be returned in person to the Youth & Teen Services Desk. The top applicants will be invited to interview at the September Board Meeting and then one TAT will be chosen to be seated at the October Board meeting.
